Há quinze anos, através do sonho do saudoso Maestro David Machado, a cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes recebeu a primeira delegação venezuelana de professores de música e maestros, com o objetivo de implantar no Brasil o bem sucedido projeto de Orquestras Juvenis e Infantis denominado “El Sistema”(Fundacion Simón Bolívar). Este encontro deu origem à ONG Orquestrando a Vida que utiliza a música clássica como meio de educação, envolvendo 1180 crianças e adolescentes, beneficiando indiretamente os cerca de dez mil familiares.  A ONG Orquestrando a Vida, tem como principal finalidade unir o aspecto social existente na educação com a prática musical, utilizando-se da música como principal ferramenta de inclusão social.  
Ao longo de muitos anos lutamos para manter um ideal de transformação social e profissionalização através da música.     São centenas de crianças abandonadas por seus pais em abrigos da cidade, outras vivenciando muito de perto a realidade das drogas e da violência nas comunidades, desafios estes que não nos permitem ficar em paz e inativos enquanto conhecedores do grande poder transformador que a música possui.
No decorrer do tempo as realidades mencionadas acima se transformam, com a convivência diária nas atividades oferecidas pela ONG, comprovando-se nas faces, nos olhares e nas atitudes as transformações de realidades tristes em situações de segurança e alegria.
Ciente desta responsabilidade o visionário maestro campista Jony William, conduz de forma dinâmica e eficaz o, hoje considerado, um dos melhores e maiores núcleos do sistema venezuelano. Através desta iniciativa obteve prêmios como: Prêmio CULTURA NOTA 10, oferecido ao melhor projeto social do estado e o Prêmio CULTURA DO ESTADO DO RIO DE JANEIRO 2011 na categoria Música Clássica. Contando com uma equipe de dezenas de maestros, professores, monitores e pedagogos a ONG Orquestrando a Vida possui  seis orquestras sinfônicas, bandas e corais.

History

Fifteen years ago, through the dream of the late Maestro David Machado, Campos received the first delegation of Venezuelan music teachers and conductors, in order to be successful in Brazil, the project Orquestras Juvenis e Infantis (Youth and Children Orchestras) called "El Sistema" (Fundacion Simon Bolivar). This meeting gave rise to the NGO Orquestrando a Vida (Orchestrating Life) which uses classical music as a means of education, involving 1180 children and adolescents, indirectly benefiting about ten thousand relatives. The NGO Orquestrando a Vida, whose main purpose is to unite the existing social aspect of education with music and use music as the main tool for social inclusion.

Over many years we struggle to maintain an ideal of social transformation and professionalization through music. Hundreds of children abandoned by their parents in the city's shelters, others experiencing very closely the reality of drugs and violence in their communities, these challenges do not allow us to be still and idle while knowing of the great transforming power of music.

Over time the realities mentioned above change, with daily the activities offered by the NGO, proving itself on the faces, looks and attitudes, transforming of these sad realities to safe and joyful condition.

Aware of this responsibility the visionary conductor William Camper Jony, dynamically and effectively leads, today considered one of the best and biggest centers of the Venezuelan system. For this initiative won awards such as Prêmio CULTURA NOTA 10 (CULTURE NOTE 10 Award), offered the best social project of the state and Prêmio CULTURA DO ESTADO DO RIO DE JANEIRO 2011(CULTURE OF THE STATE OF RIO DE JANEIRO 2011 Award) in the category of Classical music. With a team of dozens of teachers, instructors, group leaders and educators, NGO Orquestrando a Vida has six symphony orchestras, bands and choirs.
